Neuron Fund Award

The Neuron Fund Award for Contribution to World Science is designated to acknowledge and recognise top Czech scientists at home and abroad who have achieved significant success in their fields and as such can serve as role models and inspirations. It is a special award of the Neuron Fund for Support of Science granted to outstanding personalities. The Neuron Award for Promising Young Scientists is designated to acknowledge Czech scientists under the age of 40, who have achieved excellent scientific results, and to recognise their activities and promote their future progress. Each year, scientists are awarded in the fields of Physics, Mathematics, Medicine and Social Sciences; since 2014 also in Chemistry.

Jan Peřina

The Neuron Fund Award for the contribution to the world science in the field of physics was presented to a distinguished researcher, who works at the Joint Laboratory of Optics of Palacký University Olomouc and Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

Bohdan Pomahač

The Neuron Fund Award for Contribution to World Science in Medicine 2014 was presented to the famous plastic surgeon, and one of the most outstanding alumni of Palacký University, Bohdan Pomahač.

Michal Otyepka

The Neuron Impuls 2014 with the grant allocation of one million CZK was awarded to Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry at the UP Faculty of Science in Olomouc and Head of the Carbon Nanostructures, Biomacromolecules and Simulations research division in the Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials, Michal Otyepka.
